Q. When a limited edition product is on offer, can I transfer funds from my existing Abbey International notice account to the new account without penalty?
A. This very much depends on the terms of the new account. Literature will be available at the time of the limited edition offer to explain what can be done. Please contact us for further details.
Q. How do I notify you of changes to my personal details?
A. You have the following options:
- If you registered for our Internet Banking Service, this is the quick and easy way to update your personal details.
- You can send us a written instruction, signed in accordance with current signatory authority.
- If you are registered for the Telephone Service, you can use it to give us your new details. You will be asked to verify your identity.
Please remember to quote your Customer Reference Number, along with telephone and e-mail address(es) where appropriate.
Q. Do you advise customers when the interest rate changes?
A. Changes to interest rates are shown on your statement. For certain accounts, e.g. Notice 90, we will send you a separate advice by mail.
Q. Can I add or remove a party to my account?
A. Yes.
- To add a party, please contact Customer Services.
- To remove a party from an account, you should send us an instruction detailing your Customer Reference Number and confirming which party is to be removed. All parties to the account must sign the instruction.
You may wish to consult a financial or tax adviser to discuss any tax implications of changing parties to an account.
Q. What information do you need to change the name of my account, e.g. through marriage?
A. We need an instruction from you, quoting your Customer Reference Number, new and old names, accompanied by both the new and old signatures. We also need certified proof of the name change, e.g. a marriage certificate.
Q. If a party to an account has died, what should an executor, relative or remaining party do?
A. Please contact us as soon as possible.
