For your everyday banking you need an account that's convenient, flexible and
rewarding - an account that gives you ready access to your money, wherever you
are in the world. Here's what you get with our Gold account:
Choice of Sterling, US Dollar and euro accounts. Choose the currency
that suits you best - or open accounts in two or all three currencies. The minimum
opening deposits are £5,000, US$7,500 and €7,500 respectively.
High interest. The interest rates are tiered, so the greater your balance,
the higher your gross interest will be. As soon as your balance reaches the
next threshold, the whole of your deposit automatically starts to earn the higher
rate.
Gold VISA card. Simply the most convenient way to pay for goods and
services - and it's accepted at more than 28 million outlets in over 300 countries
and territories. Your card incorporates the latest Chip & Pin technology
to give you extra security in countries where retailers have adopted this system.
Elsewhere you confirm your purchases by signing the receipt in the traditional
way. Your card expenditure is debited directly to your Gold account.
24-hour cash - worldwide. With your Gold VISA card you can withdraw
cash up to the equivalent of £500, US$500 or €500 a day, in local
currency, from over 800,000 VISA cash dispensers in 120 countries. Withdrawals
in the currency of the account are free of charge (although the ATM provider
may levy a charge).
Earn interest on money you've spent! For interest purposes, your VISA
card transactions (except cash withdrawals) are only debited to your account
at the end of the month - so you can continue to earn interest on money you've
spent for up to 30 days afterwards.
Free banking and regular payments. There are no charges for normal banking
transactions (provided your average monthly balance exceeds the minimum opening
deposit required for that account). And no charges for standing orders and direct
debits on sterling accounts.
Chequebook facility. We can supply you with a sterling chequebook to
pay for non-VISA purchases on your sterling account.
